Looking at a set of rockshox forks with dual position. Is it possible to reduce the max travel from 150mm to 140mm as i want to fit them to my soul frame which is 140mm max and is currently fitted with coil pike u turns. Also if this is possible will it effect the amount of travel at the 120mm position??
Would the coil sektor version be a better option in terms of setup and reliability than the air revelations??

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for any help.

Woodchip - I have a pair of the 2013 Rev dual position forks & wanted to do much the same but spoke to Loco Tuning & didn't sound like it was possible. Fitted them to my Prince Albert anyway & they are great, pretty much keep them at 120mm most of the time & then turn them up to 150mm for the descents - shouldn't think the extra 10mm is gonna kill you is it? *

* not that I know anything about such matters 😕

Well technically yes as there is less to go wrong with a coil spring but RS air springs are reliable and there is the additional weight penalty with coil. I happen to have owned both and did some weighing:

Sektor 150 Dual Pos Coil 2013 including Maxle (73g) : 2108g
Rev 150 Dual Pos RCT3 2012 including Maxle (73g): 1845g

Thanks for the info guys.
Dickyboy- I think your probably right with what you say about the extra 10mm. The soul and BFe share geometry and the BFe can take up to 160mm forks. With me being a lightweight rider and and not particularly hard hitting I'm sure it will work out fine. I'm prepared to give it ago anyway.
Thanks again.

I have fitted a DPA spring from a 2011 Revelation (150mm) into a Pike (140mm), but spaced it down to run at 100/130mm at min/max. I used a small piece of 1/2 inch white plastic waste pipe to make the spacer.

So, yes, it is possible to space them down.
