[#4554860]

After 1300 miles the Tiagra (4600) front mech has got 'notchy'. It's not the cable. I detached the cable and worked the mech by hand but it really needs a bit of 'encouragement' to go the last few mm inbound to the smaller cog. When riding it needs a kick or a push to change to smaller ring. I think some recent seriously wet rides have taken its toll.

Obviously I am a tad loathed to replace like with like. I have Tiagra 4600 shifters. Can I replace with an Ultegra front mech? Does it matter if it is 6600 or 6700 front mech?

Really confused. TIA

Mark

I may be wrong but I thought things changed between x600 and x700. Maybe that was just brake pull.

Aha finally found the 2012 Compatibility Chart. Why isn't that readily available on the Shimano website?!

Looks like I'm alright with x600 / x700. Tho you may be right about the brake pull.
