Going to end up in Lowestoft for a few days and will have some spare time. Don't know anything about the area apart from there is no point taking the mountain bike. Will be riding from the town however it looks like you have take a few A roads, specifically the A146 and A143 in order to get over railways and rivers. So how are the roads, busy? Any to avoid? Cheers
The roads between Southwold (Adnams brewery & distillery) and Aldeburgh (fish 'n' chips) are well worth checking out, very little traffic.

Tunstall is just down the A12 but with the current rain you might want to avoid it. If you don't mind getting dirty then you can do a 50 mile route from Lowestoft to Woodbridge and either train back or loop it. That would pass through Tunstall so you could stop there for a bit of singletrack fun.

I'd do the Lowestoft to Woodbridge ride then not bother with the return leg.😉
There's a little cafe by Deben Yacht Club (called The Tea Hut), which is a favourite spot for coffee and cake in Woodbridge itself.
Loads of nice riding down the coast, Snape can also be nice for a stop off - although not been since Covid.
I am no longer a local but still closely linked to that part of the world.
Last time I was in Snape the cafe at the front was closed but the bar was operating a 'one way takeaway' and inside service and there was a coffee cabin outside.
Take the MTB. Dunwich Forest is OK as is anywhere between Southwold and Aldeburgh. 10 mile Viking Trail and off-piste in Tunstall Forest a bit further south.
