Just got an email from cotic saying the Escapade and Roadrat now have the option to come with WTB road plus wheels, which are i25 650b rims
Does this mean the road plus size is the same as MTB 650b, and I could build a set of wheels with any 650b rim I like?

Yes. I used Hope hoops with Arch rims for my first 'road plus' bike. I25s are great, ideal match for a 45-50mm road tyre. I21s maybe for a smaller lighter tyre like the 42C Panaracers.

Just the cycling version of trail running really. Some market numpty wanting to reinvent the wheel.
Grump : ) Is it the name that annoys? It's just rebuilding the old randonneur format with modern tyres and rims. Works as well as it did then. A few less flats maybe.
