Guessing it'll be sacrilegious and a possible hanging offence to put a set of mtb pedals (Time Atac's) on to the new bling road bike (Indy Fab Ti Factory Lightweight ๐ ), so need to sort some roadie pedals and shoes out! Not looking to spend a great deal right now (though would spend more on the shoes if it's worthwhile and they'll last, have Dragon 2's for the MTB for instance).
What are ya'll using and recommend?
Wiggles DHb are good cheap shoes, I use them for commuting http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-r1-road-cycling-shoe/
cheap pedals;

I don't use these but use Time, but they're shimano and cheap so should be fine
I have always used look keos which are good however if I was starting again from scratch I would go for speedplay zeros. As for shoes spesh,sidi, shimano are all good. Spesh and shimano seem particularly good at mid price range.
Just buy the cheapest Shimano SPD-SL pedals, the 105 version. Pedals are a bit like chains and cassettes; they are essentially items that get a lot of abuse and therefore get worn quickly, so I see little point in buying expensive stuff.
...I don't mean that the pedals will wear out quick, just that they get a lot of grief...
Look ok though..
Edit; don't get the ones shown above, the pdr540, the plastic bit on the top wears out really fast and is a pain to find replacement bits...
