Lycra on the road bike, baggies, but slim fitting, for commuting and off-road. Lycra works so much better than baggies, but I ain't walking into a pub or my office in full on lycra.

Oh and I'm sure this will run and run. But it is about what you feel comfortable in and if it works for you then who cares - there is no right or wrong.

All my Endura baggies have inner shorts that are lycra anyway. The baggies outers are useful off road as an extra layer and of course pockets. I can see why just lycra is good, I run a lot and always run in lycra shorts as it feels way better than regular running shorts to me.

Also, off-road lycra looks fine, on-road baggies look wrong.

Road: Lycra
Mountain Bike SS - Lycra possibly baggies
Mountain Bike FS - Lycra and baggies

Not a fan of the padded liner thing so always ride with "proper" Lycra bib or shorts and doing a bit of a fashion queen do tend to try to do the hip looking thing on the full sus

as long as you're wearing something, that's the main thing...

lycra on the road
lycra off road if i'm going a long way cos baggies seem to 'get in the way' and are more likely to rub me up all wrong
baggies if i'm trying to be gnarly or expect to crash...for a bit of tear resistance

I thought it was 661 DH pyjamas in the bedroom. Has no-one got a copy of *that* pic?

Road = Rapha cafe couture and a silk scarf
Off-road = Extreme Gnarl-wear with a chain on it

(yes, re-cycle times have now dropped to less than 1 week. We will soon create a point of singularity and a new universe of deranged opinion will spring into being.)

why am i even replying to this?

Road: lycra

off road: lycra with baggies to offer up some crash resistance, no one likes riding home in lycra with yer nuts hanging out after a crash.

spinning class: baggies with liner (its only 45 min, and no one wants to wear lycra in public)

Winter = lycra longs.

Summer = Baggy shorts.

It's all down to the probability of a pub stop!!

Only do offroad - always baggies since getting lycra crutch caught on point of saddle when trying to get weight back for a steep descent. Couldn't get far enough back with my lycra caught on the saddle, had to move forward to release it. Result - spectacular triple salco with pike OTB. Doesn't seem to happen with baggies

I just realised why I always wear baggies on the road - cos road riding = commuting, and I ain't walking into the office in Lycra shorts ๐Ÿ˜ณ
