Looking to replace my Look pedals. Merlin seem to be doing a very deal deal on these Shimano PD-R550...

Get great reviews - at £28 a pair, any reason not to?

No. None at all.
I use them on all of my road bikes.

(Well,Apart from my Vaya, and Fargo.)

cheaper than the ones i bought 4 weeks ago by 1/3 (damn) - seem to work well once you get used to big cleats and proper set up. on the plus side less knee pain than the 540's on my Orange R8..

I guess being resin and not metal they might not stand up as well to abuse over time? But I don't tend to smash my road bike pedals into things and at that price...
