[#10528756]

I've got a road frame with a 68mm wide BB30 (42mm) plain carbon BB shell, no circlips inside.
I want to get a pair of SRAM Force GXP cranks that are in the CR sale but I'm not sure if there is a bottom bracket that will allow me to fit them. Help!

Are you sure it's 42mm (or that there is no indent for a circlip to fit?)

Defo 42mm Simon as it has a Campy Power Torque PF BB in there at the mo and its marked 68x42. I've yet to take those out and have a look but I'm pretty sure there was no indent for cirlips when I fitted them.

PF30 uses a 46mm shell with 42mm bearings in a (usually) plastic cup. If you want to use a gxp cranks then just pop some wheels mfg adaptors into the current bb.

Thanks Simon. I have measured an old PF cup which confirms the shell is 42mm. I'm going to take off the cranks and knock out the cups and double check to see if there are any circlip indents.

Or if you don’t want it to creak like a bast*** then replace the bb30 bearings with a Praxis or Hope adapter bb.
