just wondering weather they would be strong enough or if they would work?
Anyone tried it or am I wasting my time?
not about strength IMO, just the terrible position you'll have on the bike, how are you going to brake on the drops?
Plenty strong enough. But what is your goal?
John Tomac managed ok in the early 90s on drops on his Yeti
isn't it called monstercross or something ?
(or am I just not down with the [s]kids[/s] beards ?)
tree-magnet may be able to help you. Although he denies it was a road bike - he called it a 'commuter'.

*s*****
its for trying something different and you never know, I might like it. The brakes will probably be on top but might sort out some kind of contraption, (welding time :D)
good luck, tomac used it DH so was always on the drops.. having brakes on the tops will mean you'll need your hands up there on techie stuff, giving you a very narrow grip and sitting quite upright, so not as stable?
works ok on gnarly cyclocross
It's a commuter!! 😡
'Giggles with Rickos'

can't believe you've even mentioned it you faggmeroll!!!!!! 🙄

there was some freak in the usa who had a whole fleet of konas with drop bars including some big travel bikes - i googled but couldn't find it

ha ha ha oh god. what have they done!
I do believe Tomac did it to keep the position similar to his road bike when he rode for Motorola.
