Mrs B has a Spec Chisel that he likes to spend long days on. She uses small tyres and uses it as a bigger tyres gravel bike. She has no interst in tech stuff and wouldnt like trail centres. She is 10st and uses it to carry her bike packing adventure kit.
She would like some lighter wheels and easy tubeless. What wheelset or rims would you recommend? If its rims we shall build onto some DT350 hubs we have in the spares box.

I have a 350 hubbed wheelset built with xm401 rims that I'll be mounting some cx tires on for winter gravel/casual cx races.
The xr331 would be better if dedicated to gravel/skinny MTB rubber but I can run up to 2.3 tyres still on the 401's
ok, a brief check reveals that the Chisel is boost hub spacing and my 350 hubs arent. So i lill be looking for a wheelset.
Is there any love for Hope XC wheels?
Hope hubs with Crest Mk3 rims are ideal for this. I'm not much heavier and have them on two of my bikes (well, the older one is original Crests) and they've been rock solid - and very light.
Hope xc wheels strike me as heavy for the rim width. Stans Crest wheels? Or if it was me I'd be looking at something built by JRA - say whatyou are after and they'll spec to that.

You could possibly sort the 350 non boost issue with a boostinator type spacer kit - I think MRP and Wolfrace do them. Then pick some light rims - crests perhaps or if you don’t want to spend too much money then something like a Wtb KOM might do the job. The latter isn’t the strongest rim, but if your wife is only 10 stone and not riding huge features then they’d be fine, whilst also cheap. Just get them built up with some decent double buttted spokes and they should be great wheels.
Hub wise I’m looking to do myself a new wheel build and am down to the DT Swiss 350 and Hope Pro4 hubs as my choice for a decent hub without going mental on cost.
