What I'm looking for at the moment is a rigid mtb with a good steel frame and fork combination and hydraulic disc brakes. I'm not too worried about the spec on consumables (tyres, drivetrain, etc) as I'll replace them with better gear when they wear out. All I've been able to find so far is the charge cooker rigid and various singlespeed offerings. I haven't found anything for less than about £600 yet despite the fact that there are many well speced front suspension bike for less than £500. Whatever happened to the rigid bike?

My first ride as a geared rigid bike!
Exotic forks, no movement at all and really enjoyed the bike!

16" frame, but has a long top tube. Good for 5-7" to 6.00
