What forks are recommended? Haven't looked but are they still available? And are there any better than others single speed conversion kits? Thinking of converting my Stiffee and having a low maintenance bike to blat around on.

I use helix 29er carbon forks with no issues on my 26er

You may find some Salsa CroMoto’s in 26” flavour, good fork.
Alternatively, my favourite 26” rigid fork was a pair of Tange Switchblades, they were awesome and used in place of some Kona Projects on my late 80’s Explosif. If you can find a pair of those, go for it, although you may want to check the axle to crown dimension to make sure you’re not dropping the front end too much.
As for ss kits, Velosolo do a range of stuff, not the cheapest but anodised hub spacers are fun.
Exotic Carbon forks are good, can be had for about £80 if you keep an eye on deals.
Surly or On-One ss cogs last for ages, far better as they have a wide base.

Got some vgc salsa vaya disk only 26" forks with 180 (aprox need to measure?)mm steerer 385mm axel to crown standard Qr forks im not useing. Need to move them on.
I've recently bought some Exotic carbon forks from eBay. There's several sellers with good feedback.
Not fitted them yet, but for the price they look like a decent option.
Bought a pair of these last year - they're excellent, stiffer and lighter than many 'branded' forks.

£40 and they’re yours but the steerer is very very short.

I put these on my Orange Gringo nearly two years ago. I bought them from Evans (I think).
They seem about right to replace a 100mm or 120mm fork.
Kinesis do them sound brought a pair new couple of years ago alloy.

I've got some on-one monocoque 26s you can have if the pace ones are no good. Disc brake mounts only.
