After my post a couple of weeks ago http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/tips-on-riding-steep-and-loose-please

Thanks to your tips I feel I have really improved! The first thing was to put a firmer spring in my fork, which feels just right now and doesn't dive like it used to. Next was body position and as mentioned, I think I was stiffening up and straightening my arms whenever I felt uncomfortable. Yesterday I was praticing the Black run and 423 at Aston hill (not that steep I know)and made a real effort to maintain the 'attack position' and wow, what a revelation! The terrain didn't seem very steep anymore, I had much more control and confidence. After that I made a point of staying lower on the bike whenever possible and it really helped with cornering too. Thanks for all the input, I'm now eager to seek out some steeper bits to try, as this was really holding me back!
