Got to thinking about this whenever i go for a local loop it's nearly always clockwise .Somehow going the other way doesn't feel "right" regardless of terrain etc .Am i just another slave to the circadian mumbo jumbo ?

Yes, I ride a lot of the local trails both ways. Keeps things interesting!

I've wondered about this in the past but, on the whole, I think I just tend to go the way that uses the terrain best (best climbs/descents etc). Or the way the signs/GPS tells me to go!

Best keep off the velodrome then as track racing is always anticlockwise. Come to think of it so are all athletic track events. I think it dates back to Roman chariot racing - do as the Romans do!

Lollipops and figure 8's are not uncommon too. And weaving a tangled web to fit in the best descents and more moderate climbs. Many of the descents would be a part push-up anyway.

whichever way the terrain rides best surely - are you autistic?

I sometimes even just mix it up and wiggle all over the place as I'm not autistic and young (so I tell myself), so don't mind change ๐Ÿ˜‰
