So soon I'll be on holiday near Filey..the area looks devoid of Bridleways...but that Coastal footpath looks nice.
Are we talking only ride before 6am or after 6pm or is it acceptable to ride paths up there ? should be as there is nowt else to ride.

i always use coastal paths for my rides, generally at night though, but the few times i have in the day have been pleasant enough with exchanges from walkers.

Ride respectfully and with courtesy and if anyone gets arsey with you, the chances are they would wherever you rode, so can be dismissed with a swift punch to the nose.

Missus got lost coming out of Ravenscar and accidentally rode some of the Cleveland way from there (heading north towards RHB), said it was lovely and she got no hassle from any of the walkers she encountered (one of the reasons she didn't realise she'd made a navigational error for a while)

No different from any other sort of "cheeky" really, having walked a lot of it I wouldn't expect much by way of technical riding, but some nice views.

Oh, and for riding in the general area that isn't Dalby: Rosedale.

"I met a beautiful girl on a very narrow cliff top path. I didn't know whether to block her passage or toss myself off"

V graphics North Yorkshire Moors Guide book has a few bits in it nearer than dalby to fileym, or at least nearer to scarboro'
That 'Good Mountain Biking' Book england/wales has some areas covered also nearer
IIRC issue 36ish of SingleTrack magazine has a route guide for surrounding areas to dalby including some stuff to the east of it. I rode a couple of bits after coming round to the north from filingdales direction from that route guide. A couple more bits I keep meaning to go back and ride one day, combine it with dalby downhill and dalby black and park just to east of the toll booth I reckon would make for a good ride

Living down south and owning an MTB looks like hard work!
Just an observation...

The Anglesey one has some good bits.

Obey the cheeky rules, don't act like a bellend and most importantly of all, don't post on here afterwards about how you'd have chinned a walker who dared to get in your way, but your mum wouldn't let you.

Obey the cheeky rules,

So there are rules to tell you how to behave when breaking rules? How quaint.

Well, there's 'breaking the rules' in the sense of:

A) Having a quick pint in the pub after last orders.

or

B) Being an antisocial asshat, convincing everyone that all cyclists are idiots and that birching was quite a good idea.

South I do too... thats how I discovered a miles of great trails near my house, however, given I'm away for three days, I thought It wouldnt be too bad to ask a comunity of riders, some of which who are local to Filey, who in a community minded way, may share a little of there knowledge so that I may have a nice ride, on a trail thats OK and not try a trail thats especially sensative or a certain NO NO.
Via email to protect said trail, as I have done for others on here.

Don't see any harm in that....
