[#3911107]

So, after almost 20yrs living in London (and contrary to what you might expect there is some pretty good riding to be had around the North-Western counties abutting London) I'm finally moving back to Derby - I'll be living in Darley Abbey.

Although I largely grew up and did most of my riding around the Derwent Valley between the ages of 12 and 20 I imagine things will have changed a bit - hopefully for the better in terms of access and trails.

Any friendly locals care to recommend routes & trails or point me in the direction of useful resources? My preference is for stuff I can ride to from my home rather than loading up the car - but all recommendations welcome.

Cheers

Drum Hill woods at Little Eaton, Allestree Park which you can use to link to the Chevin towards Farnah Green, then slightly further are Shining Cliff woods, Cromford & Crich Chase.

There's a posting on here from a week or so ago just search on Derby.

Firstly, I think you will need to get your crazy big city idea's in check, we don't like change.

That said, I've never heard a bad word said about the dvatc guys, but if you work silly unsocial hours like myself, I would happily show you around the bits danti mentions on a midweek morning.

If you can't find your way to the Abbey for a couple of pints, and you are looking for some ales brewed by 2 blokes literally on your door step the derventio brewery recently moved to Darley Abbey and are quite happy for you to drop in and buy a few bottles of fine ale.
