Anyone got experience of running these on the same bike. I've got 2010 rev teams which work faultlessly. Not really any issue to speak of but I've been thinkin of some lyriks for quite a while and its been ages since i bought anything for my bike.
I have a Santa Cruz Blur LT2 (earlier 1 1/8th steerer) and it does everything I ask of it with plenty to spare but wouldnt mind seeing if the Lyriks would add that little bit extra front end 'plough through anything' kinda feel.

Sounds a bit overkill, and is the frame warrantied for them?

I recently changed from Revs to Lyriks on my Devinci Dixon and they definitely added a lot of that "plough through anything" feel. They're great.

I've been running Rev's on an Mmmbop for a few months and found them great in most normal conditions, but when I take the bike to the rock gardens and techy muddy stuff I enjoy I found them wanting for stiffness... and I broke the damping. The 36's on my other bike do not worry me in the same way which is why I am replacing the Mmmbop with something to take the bigger fork. I didn't want to put the 36's on the Mmmbop as the Rev's are best at 130mm and to get the same fork length the 36's would be at 120mm travel.
If the Rev's are not frightening you then there is probably not much need to change... except for fun 8)

Cynic - Overkill - Probably but who cares and yes frame warranty not applied as 2nd hand frame (although SC do say its covered to 160mm)

Mill and Mess, yeah its that feel from the front end where no matter whats infront of you, its a case of attack attack attack and I think the fact they are fatter forks will make them feel slightly less twangy too.

Sounds like a win to me. Right now who's got a set of lyriks....off to classifieds me thinks. Hmm do I sell the Revs first to fund it or after when i'm happy. Oh the drama

I'd possibly interested in the Rev's, so definately sell them!

Not quite the same but bnot too different. Pikes vs Lyriks. The Pikes were pretty basic and coil the Lyriks have all the bells and whistles and are air. Lyriks just perform so much better and are so much better over the big stuff. The size of the crown when you look down on them is so much more substantial and confidence inspiring that you really want to thrash it. They are perfect for my Ali FS frame. The Pikes are more twangy and just didn't suit the FS at all they made me hold back as the frame was stiffer than the forks. The Pikes are on my BFe now and they are spot on for that. The Lyriks really would be overkill on it and probably too stiff.

I've got a set of Rev Teams and a set of coil Lyriks... Both superb forks tbh. The Revs are noticably less stiff but I don't really feel it as an issue, just as a difference if you know what I mean- doesn't bother me when riding. I suppose secretly I quite like it sometimes, makes me feel like I'm actually asking something of the hardware for once ๐Ÿ™‚

I do prefer the mission control damper to the revs' blackbox motion control though. Simpler to use despite having more adjustability- very transparent.

I ran an older set of pike airs and swapped over to 2step air lyrics. I can't really say I noticed much difference in stiffness but the damping was in a different league all together and so much more composed than the pike.

Used Rev RLT Ti/BlackBox, then Lyrik Solo Air w/Mission Control, now back to Revs again.

Lyrik is stiff and solid, feels really nice in this regard. Still miss this feeling a little bit.

Revs work better though IMO. Lyrik Solo Air tends to blow through travel and has worse small bump compliance. Lyrik damper (mission control) is sure a good thing but the air spring could be better.

Revs are much lighter and make the bike feel a bit more lively.

OTOH Lyrik's air spring is quite coily in a lot of ways, one of the most responsive air springs i've used. But I agree, very mid-strokey, mine is coil now and better for it.
