[Closed] Reverb warranty direct?

Just wondering if anyone has been able to do a reverb warranty direct with Fishers? I bought a near-new bike on eBay, and reverb is doing that 1-inch-squish thing that I think means there's air got past one of the seals.

I'm trying to get the seller to sort it out, but on the off chance they don't, can I go direct to Fishers? I'd feel a bit crap going into a bike shop and asking them to help with the warranty...especially as the 2 local bike shops are now closed permanently.... 🙁

You don’t have a warranty as it’s second hand, you’re looking for a favour. Might as well ask them but wouldn’t get your hopes up. If it arrived faulty then raise a dispute through eBay

No, they insist on you going via a shop/dealer unfortunately.

They were very helpful when I contacted them directly recently because I felt guilty for continually hassling Bird about my sh*te Reverb, and have arranged a warranty inspection but I still need to go via a shop to actually get it to them.

Would you not be planning on paying them for their time then?

You don’t have a warranty as it’s second hand

Also this.

If it arrived like that ten its down to the seller to fix or send back for a refund.

Or if its developed the fault after a few rides ask the seller for their proof of purchase so you can send it off for warranty.

Not sure how the warranty works on Reverbs. I got one that came with the bike, ran it for 3 years perfectly fine before it showed signs of needing some attention. Got a mate to strip it down, clean it out and rebuild it (apparently it was full of dirty water), which enabled it to creep on for another few months before the same issues started to come back. I then bit the bullet and sent it off to SRAM for a service via my LBS. It was replaced with a brand new unit under warranty. So it was a good 3 years old at least so outside the normal warranty period, I sent it off with no proof of purchase so could have been a second had unit as far as they could have told. So not sure what happened there. I didn't ask too many questions as you can imagine so no idea why they replaced it, but seemed like a good deal to me! I've not got any complaints about SRAM's warranty on their Reverbs!

I also lucked out with a second reverb when I sent it off for a service. It was during the time there was a shortage of some of the parts that are required as part of the service kit. After waiting for a couple of months before chasing up the progress they just sent me a brand new reverb as a replacement apologising for the delay due to the part shortage issue. So not a warranty issue as such but still a good service.
