Hi
I've been a bit of a plonker and shortened my reverb hose without fully extending the post first. So now the post is stuck in the lowest position, and just springs down if I pull it up.
How do I fix this? Will bleeding while pulling the post up be enough, or is there something else I should do?
Cheers!!
try bleeding it anyway, and check the air pressure too
Mine has started making 'fizzy' noises when the seatpost is dropped or extended...doesn't suffer any creep or anything but should I give it a bleed?
Got the instructions but not read them yet...how simple is it?
Asking this whilst on the toilet so can't go get the instructions...just yet...!
The air pressure has nothing to with the hose so just have enough fluid in the hose preventing it from returning to full height. Bleed the system again with the lever fully out, as soon as you release the bleed screws I'd imagine that you will be able to pull the post fully out again BUT DON'T OR YOU WILL DRAW AIR IN. Push fluid from the seatpost post bleed port whilst pulling the seat up slowly. When fully extended refill the syringes and bleed again from seatpost and lever.
DB, simple to bleed but avoid the instructions and watch SRAM youtube video instead.
Thanks craigxxl...will do...
Doesn't matter where the post is when you bleed it as long as the system is blead free of air it will work agian, had this exact same thing happen to me a friend broke his post end hose barb off with the seat down and it wouldn't come up so rang sram tech and they said just bleed it where it was add air to your settings and it will come back up and it did.
Sorted, cheers!
