Follow the link, only £195 delivered from Germany. I think its a bit of a bargain especially when theirs not many available in the UK. Available in both mounts as well.

Aren't Reverbs the ones that break all the time?

You can ge them for £175 delivered, there's a guy on ebay who will post as gift with a low value so you avoid customs charge.

Not from what I have heard, some failures but not as bad as the early KS, however I would put a premium on having a good warranty option

Not much good unless you have a "fat" seatpost though...

Thread resurrection...

Reverb curious- if buying from abroad, do you still get a worthwhile warranty?

SRAM's warranty is worldwide.

However with Fisher's you need to send stuff back through a bike shop, which would probably go down like a sh*t sandwich. "you know this item I bought from elsewhere for cheaper, it's now broken - you wouldn't mind popping it off to Fisher's for them to fix it would you?".

Unless you have a friendly LBS - who in fairness could match that price if they wanted to anyway, negating the need to buy from abroad...

I don't know many LBS's that would match a European Internet sale price, especially one with a £75 discount. I've bought one from these guys and it was here in a week.

Mine broke. I would pay the extra to get it in the uk. Mine cost £225.

Bought from abroad you have little legal protection. I would happily do it for something with a good reliability reputation, but for something with known issues?

Mine came from the US, when it went back i sent it direct to Fisher myself so i didnt cause my lbs too much hassel, i ended up calling Fisher who sent it direct to me, i know this isnt how its ment to work with them, but thats how it panned out.
Im glad i got mine from abroad as they where £275 when i got mine and not even out over hear for a few weeks.
Maybe am just a tight ass but i dont see the point in buying something when its cheaper else where.

There's a handful of Reverbs in our group and so far they've all been reliable. One was bought from France but I think the rest, including mine, were bought from our LBS who in fairness has kept the price as low as he can and isn't too far off internet prices.

After running a GD for nearly 3 years I can honestly say that the Reverb is head and shoulders above it in terms of build quality and performance. I love it.

I have one on my enduro (came as spec) and its been tremendous.

(ed) ooof, just had a look - i had no idea they cost that much! bonus.

The whole LBS matching ridiculous prices like £175, "if they wanted to", matching that price would be very near to, if not actually making a loss.

Does it not cross anyones minds that LBS have a very, very hard time coming anywhere near CRC/big euro shop prices?

Rock bottom internet prices ruin things for the struggling LBS, who likely dedicate an awful lot more time to your shopping experience.

At that price they would have a very small margin

Yes it does and I generally go to my LBS 1st, but if they can't get near on price I have to remind myself that I'm also having a very, very hard time finding the money and justifying spending it on what is a non essential luxury item. Just like spending a grand on a 2nd hand frame, there is a certain amount of risk involved in buying abroad, you know that there does exist a warranty, it's just less convenient to use if you need to.

mildred - it's great that you consider it though, it's totally understandable when there is a big difference and you need to watch your money.

It's just annoying when people just expect a LBS to hit the low prices and assume the LBS isn't doing them out of choice.

The bike shop at cannock, Swinnertons, Bike Chase has them at a reasonable price, and you get v good service too.

I've heard they cost £195 trade so anything like that in UK is a complete bargain...if you can find it at that price you get a deal and a half.

I chuckled at the post about the guy having a very hard time affording luxuries...ha ha...almost like the real world...
