Returning a purchase since discounted

What does the forum think to this.

Just received a bike, bought online. Website has today announced a flash15% extra sale (bet you can't work out which one) anyway is there any chance of getting the 15% as a refund or do you think I'll be made to return and reorder the bike to receive it? Haven't ridden it yet.

Seems a bit nonsensical if I have to go through all the rigmarole and they have to pay for 2 couriers

I'd email customer service. You'd hope they'd see sense and apply the discount retrospectively.

Send them an email, they’ll refund it.

They’d pay for the return? How very generous

Use the live chat function and they'll likely sort you out.

We bought a washing machine from a local chain a couple of weeks ago. They only got my email address because of that purchase.
3 days after the sale I got an email telling me about their new sale where the exact same machine was reduced by £150.
I emailed them, not expecting much, but thought they should know how annoying it all was. They replied and refunded the difference that day! Can’t knock that for service.
Email the shop, you never know!

Emailed them before I started this thread, good to get the forums opinion.

See nothings changed here regarding at least one smart quip reply. The bike had some damage in transit so I was offered a free collection/replacement

I had this with Nike and a pair of trainers. 5 mins on chat and I had a refund agreed.

I'm of the opinion it's annoying but it happens.
You were clearly happy to pay the price you paid when you entered your card details so why should the retailer offer you money.
It actually annoys me that this is even considered an acceptable thing to do.

Well that explains that then
