Is it possible, does one exist? If not is there a temporary bodge?

Basically mine disintegrated in the alps on teh last day and i dont want to kill my frame before i get a new shock on there.

just wind on the preload/add air to the shock surely? a properly adjusted shock shouldn't be bashing off the bumpstop all the time?

The spring is on the soft side and its just a "get me by" till a new shock comes but i dont want to bottom it out and **** the frame.

Its not bottoming constantly dont worry, the bottom out bumper had just perished as they do on the swinger shocks. But hey £35 for a new shock, who's complaining!

Well I'm guessing it must be possible as the DHX on my Uzzi came with spare soft and hard bumpers and CRC stock spare Manitou bumpers. Reckon it'd need a shock strip down to fit though.

How much is a new rubber bit? If not too spendy, I wonder if a temporary bodge might be to cut a slot in one side, cut/carve a groove around the outer edge of the bumper and then ziptie it on. I expect the ziptie would give out after a few hard squishes but you could check it every run and keep a load in your pocket.

As a bodge to get you through a few days, surely you can fashion something from an old tyre or tube?

Is it the bit like THIS you mean?

Could you bodge a replacement from a plastic wine bottle cork cut to size and a hole drilled in it then slice it in half and secure it with a couple of cable ties?

I am presuming part of the problem is the shock needs completely ripped apart to replace that bit?
