[#4327280]

This is the sort of maintenance task that the LBS generally does for me but there is no reason why I can't tackle this myself.

Do I need a specific tool are has anyone had any success with using improvised sockets.

Its an RP23 with a poly bush if that makes any difference

Spot on thank you.

I was actually thinking of the BETD tool that you hit with a hammer, a bearing press is a much better idea

I do mine with 2 sockets and a bolt, but you do need a socket the exact right size obviously. (I've got a dinky wee tool for it somewhere but no idea where)

The BETD/Fox style press tools are alot better that the faffy threaded ones. Best when used with bench vice too, although hammers fine if you don't have one.

If you're talking about replacing the hula hoop, I do mine with a bench vice and just use the new hula hoop to push out the old one. Use a big socket on the other side to allow the old one to push out. No tools needed

if you have a socket set check that, I found that 1 socket was an exact fit for driving out (then put a very large socket on the bush 'out' side and then use a vice to drive it out, pushing the bush into the 'hole' on the big socket
