[#11079533]

Rear WTB i35 rim is leaking air at the joint (tyre deflates in a few minutes). Not sure if this is just unlucky but I'm not going to ride it again! Looking for replacement wheel set, to run 2.8 tyres, to go on a Whyte 905. I would be grateful for any recommendations?

Or just replace the rim with another WTB i35?

Cheers all.

Has it just started leaking?

It's been losing pressure for a while, albeit slowly.

I changed the rear tyre today and the joint is losing air - can feel it and see it when put water on it.

Not had that happen before.

I’m very happy with my DT Swiss XM481’s on Hope pro 4 hubs

Are they a 35mm internal width?

Yes, they're 35mm internal.

I personally wouldn't replace with WTB, my i29 rims are a hell of a state, and that's on a FS, rear would be worse on a HT.

I'll be going with DT rims shortly.

I think XM481’s are 30mm internal. You need the XM521 for 35mm internal if that matters to you.

Or a cheaper DT Swiss option is the M542.

The XM521 is a bit lighter than the M542 and made of a fancier alloy I think. The M542 is slightly easier to build with as its eyeletted - whereas they XM need to be built with phr washers and slightly fancier nipples (to work with the phr’s)
