You know the humour columnist “Doc Hutch” who writes a regular piece for the last page of the mag? He got hit by a car on his bike today. I follow him on Twitter, and saw the pics. He looks in bad shape, though he says he’s doing well. In fact he’s still being funny.

But jeez... when it happens to people of some prominence, it makes me feel more vulnerable out there!

Oh ****. His twitter posts are brilliantly sardonic, as ever.

IT's sick the way we keep getting killed and maimed on the road and yet no serious attempt is made for prevention.

That's Michael Hutchinson, all round good guy and top TTer.

Bum. GWS.

“This may sting a bit.” [brief pause]

“Jesus! That the worst thing that’s happened to me all day! And I got run over five hours ago!”

Oh. He's a super nice guy. Used to regularly sit next to him at Pickwick Club Picnics. He has a seriously dry sense of humour.

Just seen his tweet. Took a moment to realise that the bloodied bloke on the spinal board who looked a bit like Dr Hutch was, in fact, Dr Hutch.

Worth a follow. Have had many belly laughs at his tweets over the years. Get well soon.
