[#3186731]

The one with 130mm at the rear and 70 deg head angle.
Had it since 2005 and just fancy something new but not sure what to replace it with.
Now I'm riding Surrey Hills my Soul will be the main bike.
But I ride in the Lakes/Wales a few times a year and will do Spain/Alps again at some point so 140mm travel would be good but don't want 6 inch - too much for Surrey and it'll never get used.
Will be moving all my existing kit over - got some 140mm Pikes - just need frame only.
Any suggestions?
Frames I've thought about:
Heckler (poss too much travel and prob need longer travel forks)
Nicolai Helius CC
Transition Bandit
Did I hear Cotic are working on a new full suss?
Any STW hive thoughts?

Dropper post, Tapered headtube for new forks in a year or two, ISCG mounts.

Transition Bandit. It's on my shopping list for next year, me-thinks. Either that or a Zesty or a Stumpy EVO or a Yeti or... ad infinitum.

If you want something different then don't get another five! My mate has a Heckler with pikes and it rides really well. Obviously H/A will be slightly steeper but coming from a 2004 Orange will probably still feel a bit slacker. The Transition looks like a great bike. Yeti ASR5 maybe?

Frames I've ridden and adore: Transition Bandit, as you mention. Also, Pivot Mach 5.7, truly amazing.

Both lightweight, climb well and amazing descenders. One benefit of being a shop owner is you get lots of chances to ride sexy bikes.

I've got a 2012 five and i ts the dogs bits. I ve had a few full sussers recently and have enjoyed the five the most . For comparison i've had a treck fuel , giant reign ,titus FTM and now the five in the last two years. the five seems to suit me the best as it really comes alive when I put the seat down a few inches and let it run. Never saw what all the fuss was until i tried it. My five is the rp23 kashima shocked frame if that makes a difference.
