Needing to replace the chainrings on my truvative 3 x 10 chain set 104 BCD
Do I need specific 10 speed ones or do any 104 BCD chain wheels fit??
No to the specific 10 speed chainrings.
Supposedly any 104 BCD chainring should fit, but in practice the tabs that the chainrings sit up against on the chainset spiders aren't generic. So some ppl are happy filing the tabs down on the new chainrings (me) to fit, other file the spider so any chainring will fit, & others will only buy something that fits exactly.
Make a choice
(Deore are fine unless you need to use something expensive or are a weight weenie)
So basically any 104 BCD chainrings will fit?? happy to use Deore if they do the job
Any 104 BCD chainring 'should' fit, but in reality might need adjusting with a file (were talking a couple of mm off each inner tab normally). As long as your happy with that, go order deore chainrings.
