Off there in a couple of weeks with work, strong possibility of a free day, any recommendations of a ride and bike hire? Found one shop that does Hightower for 50 dollars a day.

Thanks.

Flume trail is good fun

The shop at the café at flume trail bikes. Use the uplift to skip the road climb finishes up at the shop and the cafe does good food.

That's a shame. But then I guess -whats the snow level up there just now . Must be approaching  the shoulder season ?

Snow can be present well into the Summer around Tahoe.

Pop over to the Norcal MTBR forum & ask there for advice.

The flume is a great ride, but obvs it's just about time of the year.

If however you have a car, then you're only about 40mins drive away from Downiville which is just some of the most amazing riding.

Uolift available for more than 20 miles of killer downhill trails. Not DH type, but technical riding down the side of a river. Best trail i've done in years is the Great Divide trail there.
