Am I doing anything wrong here? I cannot get the damn thing to loosen, and I just tore the head off a socket adapter in the process of trying.
- Lots of penetrating oil on both sides, left to soak in overnight
- Non-drive side first - counter-clockwise to undo
- Drive side - clockwise to undo
Its starting to do my head in. I can't get either side to move at all.

Well with a bodged jig to hold everything in place, a new socket adapter, and far more brute force than seems reasonable I got it removed. Thanks for the confirmation @bikerevivesheffield , I was starting to worry I was trying to turn it the wrong way.
