I am looking to replace a MAxxis advantage 2.25 as a front tyre. It's great in wet and dry conditions, but in any sticky mud is squirms around and has limited side bite. [I just couldn't get around corners in deep mud last night] And there is next to no clearance on the arch of my Rebas.
I've come over a bit weight weenie also, and would like something 600g ish in weight. Advantage 2.1 is an obvious suggestions, but what else is out there a bit smaller than the 2.25 advantage xc weights and good in mixed conditions? Nevegal, Nobbly Nic, Mountain king 2.2 ? and really how big IS the Bontrager XR4 2.2? Opinions please!
note: I really don;t want a mud tyre. I'm not a conditions matching tyre swapper!
Adjust the pressures, and almost anything'll do. Seen regulars from here on top of the charter house trig point in cludgy conditions, fully rigid bike, clown wheels, slick tyres, riding everything. Get on with it! 😆
Had a conti x king on recently, rolled well, seemed good grip in most conditions, maybe didn't last that long but can't have it all
Easy Easy! The tyre needs replacing anyway, so looking for what to change it to - which will then stay on there, not into swapping!
