[#7035433]

Looking for a new fork for my Blue Pig after it's Fox Talas failed yet again last night.
Want a no nonsense 150mm fork that just works without any tlc.

The Pig is a much loved bike that gets dragged out the shed every couple of weeks as an antidote to all my training and racing on lightweight bikes. We go for a play in the woods and I love it for it's simplicity.

I don't mind much about weight as it's not a race bike, and think x fusion or rockshox would be my preference. Fox can do one as I feel completely conned by their talas 36 which couldn't cope with the rigours of gentle wooded single track.

Also want to keep the price as low as possible.

Revelations (rct3) on my nproof, 15mm maxle. Been superb so far and I ask them to do a lot of big stuff with a late 12 stone plough on board.

If reliability is key you really don't mind weight I'd go for a Sektor RL with coil. Incredibly easy to maintain and not much at all to go wrong. Couldn't really fault them performance wise either even if they're not quite up to par with new style Pikes for example.

Been googling, starting to agree the sektor might be the one.

This.

Have a 140mm Sektor (coil spring naturally) on my HT....virtually maintenance free.

I've just this week ordered the refresh kit from TFtuned as they're a couple of years old now and never had any TLC...not that you'd know it, they still work as smoothly as the day i got them.

Dead easy to change travel lengths between 130, 140 and 150 simply by swapping out the spring (Ebay £40 new) and just as easy to change the firmness of the spring.
Mine runs a medium (red) but RS recommend a firm (blue) for my weight but i dont bottom out on the medium so i havent bothered changing yet.

Brand new they're less than £250 now and on Ebay you'll find nice ones from £150....Flatoutcycles who specialise in second hand goods usually have a few on their website too.

Ditto all of the above but for the coil spring Lyrik if you want 160mm travel and 35mm stanchions.
