Marker Pen...I'll bet they are stuck on rather well otherwise commuters would moan they wear off.

But assuming they are road tyres...fashion before function?!

Agree, they look crap and I don't cycle in the dark so not required.

For Schwalbe and Vittoria tyres I have had in the past I just pick underneath a bit of the strip with a Stanley knife and they slowly pull the strip off. Too fast and it snaps.

A trace is left behind but it is non reflective.
