Hi,
I'm looking at buying some good lights to do some night riding in Swinley Forest and Peaslake this winter.
Can anyone recommend me what are worth investing in?
Also is it neccessary to have one on your bars and one on your helmet or is it sufficient to just buy a single lamp?
Cheers,
Smit
hi mate,id recommend anything by exposure,if your like me i hate wires every where, and having to use bottle cages for your battery pack, that's the beauty in exposure, mine is the exposure race which i think is 480 lumen's and it is super bright,i paid £140 for mine second hand about 3/4 years ago and its still going strong, they are bomb proof.... http://www.exposurelights.com/product/000019/race/
one light is enough, two is better, some will argue bars and some head.
Pros to bars it gives better depth perception, cons not always pointing where your going.
Pros to head goes where you look, cons perception and fog/mist.
Personally i use Ayup's not the brightest but as a complete system hard to beat.
Something to consider is if riding in a group the brightness of the lights of those you ride will may be an issue. their lights may swamp yours if they are very bright.
And don't believe Lumen figures, they should be treated as a guide and not as gospel
