hi all i want to replace the brakes on my trek remedy.running avid elixir crs but find them fiddly can anyone recommend anything better and give reasons why thanks

should of said im fair chunky so need good stopping power ๐Ÿ˜†

Shimano. I've not found mine fiddly at all. That's after a good few fiddly years on Avids! I'm using the XT but the SLX look nice as do the Saints.

Hope look nice too. I've not tried them for years and years.

Liking my Magura BAT brakes here. Fit and forget.

Also like my really old Magura Louise FR brakes. Only brakes not to protest too much in the Alps.

Shimano XTs. Fantastic. Had them on a week now and ridden 50miles. Very impressive.

Shimano. Fit and forget. Running some new deores on one of my bikes. Fantastic brakes for fifty quid each.

Shimano. Have the saints and tried the xt - both were excellent. The only other manufacturer I would consider would be magura.

New style shimano,got the xtr races after 10 years+ of hope.Tried some formula Rx's today for a ride....horrible.

shimano xt is normally the answer to every groupset question, including this one.

Yes - another +1 for Shimano here. SLX make for a very good value option. Running them 180 front 160 rear on my Camber and they stop me fine, very easy to set up and easy to tend to when they need it.
