I'm gonna take the plunge and order some bibs from crc while they are cheap.
Any recommends?
Do compression types ones come with a chamois? Do they work?
Mr MC has Pearl Izumi, a mate swears by Giordana I have girlie giordana and love them. Think you just need to try them. Wiggle have Sportful bibs for £40 and Cyclespot said they were the best bib shorts they have ever ridden in. I would stay away from compression shorts for riding personally as they need to be tight and I think they would be too tight.
Assos, expensive but last for years and are super comfortable
Go to wiggle and get the dhb ones. Aeron race and pro are what I use. Might be as cheap as other options on sale.
Altura Ergo Fit very comfy. I have long tights but I think they do bib shorts with the same pad.
i have a couple of pairs Assos Mille's that are 7 or 8 years old, get worn a lot, at least a couple of times a week each, they are now starting to die. Yes they were expensive but on the basis of the use they have had and the comfort they have given then they are quite cheap. I have used other shorts and they have never been as durable or comfortable.
dhb from Wiggle; great value.
I don't think current Assos ones are as good personally, and I don't think their cheapest (relative term) Uno pad is very comfy, it's too big. The Mille and the F.I.13 pads are nicer, but silly money now.
Gore are very good, I've got the Ozons, and they're great.
