Need some new grease for items such as top of crown race, seat post insertion, bearings in hubs, headset etc. Any forum favourites, currently thinking park poly lube 1000, shimano workshop grease etc.

Notice that none of these are bike specific greases, guess they're the same but just hoiked in price?

Hence, big of stuff for a fiver from the car section in Halfords vs "bike specific" stuff from the bike section which was twice the price for a fraction of the amount.

Its still sticky, greasy stuff that after 18 months of use seems to work just as well as bike specific stuff.

I have a tub of this for pretty much everything, it is very good. Also one small tub of special grease for suspension components and a grease gun for little bits.

Unscientific tests have proven that RG2 looks just like the shimano stuff, and cheap jam.

Not all grease is made equal. Some will dry to a solid lump in next to no time.
