Can anyone recommend me a winter road cycling holiday? Wife & I have a week to take at end of January & she prefers road to MTB.
Ideally;
Self guided.
4 days out of 7 biking.
Good quality bike hire.
3 hour'ish flight.
Majorca, Malta, Spain,sort of thing - went to Canaries at end of Sept so not there.

It's going to depend on what sort of weather you're expecting
You may well get some decent riding weather in Southern Europe in January or it may be as wet as an otter's pocket.
Should be warmer than here though, but even that's not garunteed.
I'd re-think your Canaries decision, the Islands are pretty much totally different from one another so pick a different one, Tenerife is great for road cycling but not tried the others
Have a look at the Jet2.com website to give you some ideas.They are trying to promote cycling holidays but they are little more than package holidays and a hotel with storage for the bike.There is info on cycling routes from the hotels though.
