Looking for a one man tent, ideally around 1.5kg, that can be pitched complete or fly first. Currently have a coleman but it is almost 2.5kg. Any pointers much appreciated, thanks. 😆

The only one I can think of fly first / as one is a Macpac microlight. Over the weight limit though. about 2kg if i recall.

Dont know if you can do it with an Akto (hilleberg)

Lichfield Treklite 200 - you can clip the fly and inner together and pitch it in one go.

Have you see the Blacks Octane 1? Now in green, weighs in at (allegedly) 1.75kg. Some favourable reviews on UK campsite and outdoorsmagic.

I'm quite tempted by one, either that or a Vango Apex.

You may see one on ebay, but I've an old Phoenix Phreerunner that should fit all your requirements.

Single-skin (goretex), under 1.5kg and 1-2 man so plenty of room for one.

Somebody must make an equivilent?

They also made a cheaper version, twin skin - Phreeranger

...or the Vango Ultralite

There is a question over condensation levels though.

The macpac microlite is just 1.6kg, I have one for sale as it happens, only used once, seems sealed, I am selling due to it being a tad too small for me, I am a big chap and prefer to pay a weight penalty for a bigger tent.

I wouldn't use a single skin tent, may be worth while for a mountain marathon where u are willing to sacrifice ALL comfort for speed, but for anything else it would be like camping in a polythene bag.

Depends on when you plan to use it. I have a coleman x2, single skin, weighs 960g. Cost about £60. Does the job for fairweather biking.

MSP - how much are you selling the tent for (€ fine if you're still in Germany)? I would be interested as I need a light single-person tent for touring... I can't find your email in your profile.

Ive happily lived in a single skin tent for 3 months with only a few dewy mornings to worry about (and thats just on the underside of the skin - kit inside remains dry)

we used a golite Den2, comes in at1.5Kg - bags of room for 2+ kit. Not sure if they're still available.

Akto pitches all in one or outer first.

I'd buy another. Mine's been about, no complaints other than occasional condensation. Which incidently is always a problem in single skin tents in our climate.
