I'm contemplating replacing my elderly s/s rear wheel. What do the singlespeeders on here reckon are good hubs for the job? (I did read the superstar thread but am thinking of alternatives).

A standard rear hub with spacers (Velosolo do nice ones!). Much better reliability than freewheels (even White Industries ones) and no real disadvantage. It even means you have a spare rear wheel for your geared bike if you need it (unless you're one of those SS-only wierdos).

The hope SS / Trials one is quite nice. In gold!

Perhaps a bit too soon to say, but I have a DMR SS hub that I bought from here about 5 months ago. So far it's been fine; never even notice it.
