[#1367174]

Can anyone recommend me a ladies saddle for the girlfriend to try.
She's tried a WTB Rocket & a Charge Spoon Ti but found the Spoon a bit wide, with the wider part digging in when leg at full extention.

She's 5'7" & quite slim if that makes a difference.

I would recommend going to a Specialised shop (thanks Mrspoddy!) to sit on the "arseometer". Your sit bones leave an impression which can be measured and then a saddle bought that exactly fits. My saddle was £25 so not expensive.

I agree - the spesh seat thing is the way to go.

I did it - then decided that the medium width I needed weighed too much for the bike tho so stuck with the (still uncomfortable) original one for weight vanity!

Wife didn't believe me at first that lots of padding isn't the answer and that a firm saddle that fits is better. She thought it was a wind up when I said we could pop into the shop and get her ar5e measured.

She's a convert now and runs a Specialized Jett 155 on all her bikes.

If she thinks the Spoon's too wide* she wont like a ladies saddle.

*Spoon being a mans saddle.

BTW Mrs ssstu loves the Spoon, has them on all her bikes.

Mrs M finds the Charge Ladle very comfortable. It's a women' specific version of the Spoon

The Juniper is Chromag's women's specific saddle.
Firm padding, kevlar corners - pretty light too at 260g

Agree with getting yourself measured.

Trying saddles out, maybe borrowing a few friends to try is the answer. We're all indivdual shapes, so it's personal preference.

Ms S liked the WTB Deva so much that she bought a few of them from Merlin at about £15.00 each.

They might have some knocking about in the stockroom, worth trying at that price.
