It's because the inside diameter of the bearing is smaller than on the pro 2 so it wouldn't physically fit, the pro 3 after all was designed as a lightweight race hub so no need to be bigger than 15mm really.

DT swiss do a 15mm bolt through too.

Unless you want to use maxle Rebas, which there's a pretty good chance you might.

But flip it round, most hubs aren't convertible at all so this is still better than most of the competition, right?
