If you want a chain and lock that isn't going to get cut, get an Almax. However it's far too heavy to carry with you.

I would say a U-lock from Abus or Kryptonite.

Or check out motorcycle stuff. M&P is on n line retailer. Look for sold secure IIRC. expect to pay £100+ for anything worth having

Yeah, need to carry with me. So it's probably going to be either the Kryptonite of the Abus.

Aldi have some motorbike locks at the moment. 2 foot chain in nylon sleeve and beefy padlock, £12ish I think. Not as heavy as my Kryptonite so might be carryable? Depends how far you're going...but cheap enough to leave locked to the railings at work?

something like this is my fav type if using/carrying only a single lock,

using 2 different type of locks is also a good idea,
as usually bike thieves will carry tools to break only 1 specific type of lock (that's what I've heard anyway, could be absolute rubbish but it sounds good 😀 )

edit; saw some really beefy ones like the picture in B&Q today, £35 if i recall. you can also wrap them around your waist to carry that's how I ride with mine
