I currently have one of those old school brand x hard shell jackets with full sleeves. too hot for summer.after something a bit lighter but with good back protection, some chest protection and possibly shoulders. then i will pair it with some elbow protectors. anyone got anything to recommend? was looking at the O'neal STV but the back protector looks at bit poor.
My similar thread from last year:

I intially wanted full shirt including elbows, the thread convinced me to go separate elbows.
I've bought and used the elbows (fox D30), still not got myself the rest...
I've got one of these:

It's replaced my hard-shell IXS one for all but the silliest of conditions.
No chest protection on this though. I have thought about the possibility of sewing in some sort of D30 roost guard of sorts.
Way, way more comfortable than the hard shell one for general riding/uplift days - I guess that's where you choose your spot on the great Comfort <---> Protection chart.
Fox Raceframe, works for me and a few others i know, basically just chuck it on over or under your top, good back and front protection, lightish and lots of ventilation, also you can remove it when you want.
