[#292986]

After much experimenting I have found my ideal (almost) bike. It is a 29er GFisher Rig with carbon bonty switchblade forks and an alfine hub. Not everyones cup of tea but for the mix of tarmac, lrts and woody singletrack that the bulk of my local rides entail it is almost ideal.

Why almost, well I would prefer a steel frame. Ideally something the same geometry as the rig, do GF do one? Happy to run an alfine tensionner. The problem is I don't know of any off the top of my head but I'm sure the stw collective can help.

Many thanks in advance.

the latest ferrous has completely different geometry to the new rigs (G2 models) so check first - older model information is on the GF website - the ferrous has an eccentric BB

alternatives include the on one 29er frame - will work with the alfine and is steel, plus a slot dropout scandal will be along shortly plus there are singular, niner, surly, vassago, salsa to name a few other manufacturers

vassago geometry is similar to the older rig. the ferrous is different to all the other fishers.
