The rear wheel on my pre-cursa is at death's door - what's a good fixed wheel for commuting these days? Would need to be either a tubular or tubeless rim and robust enough to handle life over the potholes.

I would get a wheelbuilder to build one for you, I have a 36spoke which is probably overkill but then again I don't have to worry about it. have a look on BrickLanebikes they may have something ?

32h Novatec laced to something like a Mavic A119.

Why tubular out of interest?ย  I like Ambrosio Nemesis for a tub rim, but for urban commuting probably wouldn't bother with tubs (I do commute on tubs but it's 2.5h on hilly back roads, so just use my normal road bike).

Just like tubs in general - The bike came with a tub wheelset and it's worked well on an urban commute [although I do use sealant]. Would be equally fine with a tubeless rim, though. Thks for the suggestions.

DT T1800 seems to tick all your boxes, tough and tubeless ready.
