I like the Maxxis Medusas on my SS for winter. They don't roll like a tractor tyre like some out and out mud tyres and are pretty good in most gunky conditions.

i never liked my maxis larsons.. DO NOT LEAN THE BIKE ON ANYKIND OF WET SURFACE WITH LARSONS. well except tarmac. fantastic in the dry tho. except on loose gravel. imh maxis larson is a tyre for very certain condictions. defo no good for the unpredictable uk weather

Ignitors work well on the front for me in most conditions. Reasonable volume, not huge. Mud x rear.

Been working fine for me for the last 2 years, just got used to knowing when it's probably going to give out - tend to find it grips a lot better than it has any right to.

Conti Mountain King protection in a 2.4 for the front (more like a big 2.25/2.3) and Conti X-King protection 2.4 rear (more like a 2.2), so much better than the usual nobby nic/ralph and both around 630g - suitable for tubeless with the protection strip

Done. Got two x-kings 2.4 protections (handmade in Germany). Oh my god. I cannot believe I paid £90 for two tyres!
