want a wireless, dont need heart rate, just something small light and easy to use.
for my roadbike btw
budget dunno £20?
Cateye Strada (I run the wireless version which are out of your price bracket), clear display, very easy to use as there are no fiddly buttons. Wires shouldn't be a problem on a road bike either unless your funny about that sort of thing.
I've got two Cateye Velo 8s
They are dead simple and I got mine for £8 on CRC in the flood sale. Might be some in the normal sale.
Bought a cateye velo 8 2nd hand off here and it's great.
Aldi £12.99
+1 for the cateye strada, easy to use, clear and small. Should be able to get a wireless one for ~£30. Pretty waterproof too - mines just been through the washing machine 😳
+2 for Cateye Strada
Strada's £ 27 on CRC

Wireless version is £ 36 (best wireless computer I've used, good range and seems nearly immune to interferrence).
StuE +1 the Aldi wireless ones are brilliant.
You even get instructions you can understand with the Aldi one, it is a good bit of kit for the money, wireless with heart rate monitor
In my experience the wired Cateye Strada has a tendency to stop working when it gets wet. I'm pretty sure this is caused by water on the contacts on the bracket/back of the cycle computer, so I presume the wireless one won't have this problem.
Just put one on my bike from Aldi. Works great. Comes with heart monitor aswell. You might find a use for it (training etc)
its quality - my mates lidl or aldi ones what ever ones doing them on special just now doesnt work when i ride near him with my HRM on ....drives him mad .... i wear it just to piss him off now.
sigma sport onyx - few years old mind
my experiance says cat eye strada wired braket is shite, resulting in bad connections and lots of mis calced speeds and milage - this happened in the last 500k of 3500km journey. Really irritating the smallest of bumps upset it.
Look into Velomann computers , they come in at your budget wireless and work well
Another no to the Cateye Strada (wired). Connection to the mounting bracket is unreliable especially in the wet like CraigW says. I just replaced mine with a VDO unit but its too early to say anything about its performance.
