Hey, sure this has been done loads so apologies for the repeat question!

My brother has asked for a new pump to carry on his bike for trials, ideally with a pressure gauge on it.

I seem to have a knack of buying rubbish pumps, anyone got any recommendations? Preferably below £35 -£40

Cheers

Why a pressure gauge? I would very much doubt the accuracy of them.

I have had a Backburn pump for years robust and good quaility, bought a new seal kit last year and it's just like a new pump again.

Just posted somewhere else on my new one. My Canondale mini pump is now skipped after dumping the CO2 out of my tyre in the middle of no where. In it's place I've got the Topeak Road Morph G about £25 from CRC. Bit bigger than a lot of the really small pumps just over a foot long but has a flip out handle, foot so you can use it like a mini track pump, decent chuck with flip lock and an online pressure gauge. Not had to use it in anger yet but seems really well made and gets rave reviews. they also do the MTN versions with or without gauge but they're a bit heavier.
I'm carrying it in my Hawg so size ok but you can get a frame fitting bracket that zip ties on but may need to put it under the top tube if it's a small frame.

I've got the Lezyne one and it's ace! I've got the one without the pressure gauge but you can get one with it. Everyone who uses mine comments on how nice it is.

(Linking to BikeTart because the Lezyne website is dreadful - sort it out guys!) http://www.biketart.com/266-2/lezyne.aspx

Topeak MTN Morph, available with (unnecessary) gauge if required

Mountain Morph is great. They do one with a gauge but mine doesn't have one so I can't comment on accuracy. It's pretty big but it really works well. I've have two Blackburn's fail and the second replacement was loose on delivery so I'd avoid them.

What they said ^^^^^^^^

Topeak Mountain Morph's are great, Small enough to fit in A Camelbak Mule or similar, nice little flexi hose valve connector to stop you ripping the valve off, decent length stroke on the handle, foot grip so can be used as a mini floor pump and all for about £20.

Can't comment on the gauge as mine doesn't have one.

I had a topeak, and recently got a Lezyne for my birthday. Where as there's nothing wrong with the Topeak, the lezyne is in a completely different class (if you can say that about a pump!). For a gift - go for the Lezyne.

sorry to hijack this thread but can I ask what Lezyne pumps people have... I have had a look on CRC and biketart and there are just so many to choose from. Cheers.

The Lezyne HVG is very similair to the Topeak Turbo Morph in use but infinitely better in terms of build quality, longevity and general sleek looks.

nice one, thanks I will have a look into it. I have a Topeak Morph myself so it may be a good comparison to make (as this is a present for my dad).
