I keep my Lumicycle lights + batteries in the garage which is pretty cold. Got this thought (based on no science!) that it's not good for rechargeable batteries to be kept cold ... true or false?

My instructions recommend that I store batteries in the fridge (!) So they have their own box inc silica gel. I do tend to keep my lights in the house though - I worry about the heat change from garage storage to oparational running...

How long should you expect from Li-Ion batteries in the cold?
I have a couple of 6600mAh batteries and their performance is way down on what I would normally expect - down to approx 1-hr where I used to get over 2-hrs....is this the effect of riding in cold and sub-zero temperatures or are they both goosed!!?
