Does anyone know whether you can buy a rebuild kit for Wellgo MG1 pedals - or where to get the seals, DU bushes and bearings from?

It's a steel bearing on a Magnesium body, so the bearing and bush is probably a lose fit now, there is only one per pedal.

Bearing size is: 6x13x5 686ZZ

They are what I consider a throw away pedal. I got 5 years out of mine, which I consider pretty good for the price.

I rebuilt mine, but had a pair of bushings with them (second hand) and sourced bearings locally, so can't help on the sourcing side.

My well used pair have lasted ages but are very rattly now but my newer pair felt stiff to turn from new and now one has seized up!
Any ideas? Seems like a waste of a decent pedal. Easy enough to strip down?

They are easy to strip down. I got some replacement bearings off ebay, they old ones had destroyed themselves. Pedal seems fine, but TBH its on my HT that I've only been using flats for when I have my lad on back, so havent had the punishment they used to get.

Given the lack of imagination amongst pedal manufacturers have you considered the superstar rebuild kit, might be worth a punt as the bearings and bushes are common sizes shared by lots of manufacturers.

FWIW whenever I strip pedals the bearings are fine as they are at the properly sealed end of the pedal (and sealed themselves). The bushes are normally knackered though.

If they are not superstar sized they will probably be DMR sized.

I thought one of my sets was dead- just opened them up, filled them with new bearing grease, and put them back together, and they're still going strong a year later.

Lighter and cheaper than Superstar too.
